Track & Field/Cross Country
Summer Camp (6th-12th Grades)
We run our track & field and cross country camps concurrently, so it does not matter if you only do one sport or both. Camp begins Monday June 2nd, ends Friday July 25th, and meets in the CGHS stadium. Coaches will help athletes choose a combination of sessions to match event interest.
Mondays
- 6:00a-8:00a distance running, stretching, core (abs) work
OR
8:00a-9:00a speed & agility (all sprint, jump, hurdle athletes )
- 9:00a-10:00a long jump & triple jump, boys high jump, hurdles, blocks, relays
Tuesdays
- 6:00a-8:00a middle distance and long distance running, stretching, core (abs) work
- 8:00a-9:00a weight training (9th-12th grades only)
Wednesdays
- 6:00a-8:00a distance running, stretching, core (abs) work
- 8:00a-9:00a weight training (9th-12th grades only)
- 8:00a-9:30a hurdles & girls high jump, blocks, relays
Thursdays
- 6:00a-8:00a distance running, stretching, core (abs) work
OR
8:00a-9:00a plyometric & agility drills (all sprinter, jumpers, hurdlers)
- 9:00a-10:00a long jump & triple jump, sprint speed workout, form running
Fridays
- 6:00a-8:00a middle distance and long distance running, stretching, core (abs) work.
Pole vault
- Days TBD but occurs during the 9:00a-10:00a field event window. Usually M/W or M/Th. Please email manderson@d155.org for info as it becomes available
Shot put & discus:
- Please contact Coach Freeman (jfreeman@d155.org) about summer throwing with him. It is a completely separate camp.
Registration:
- Camp is $150 for incoming 9th-12th grade athletes, $100 for incoming 6th-8th grade athletes. Registration can be found at https://chsd155.revtrak.net/RW-CGHS/ or by going to the CG website, clicking “Athletics” and then clicking “Summer Camps.”
- Girls - this camp INCLUDES the “Girls Athletics Speed & Agility Camp” and the “Free Agent Lifting Camp” already listed on the CG website.
- Boys - this camp also INCLUDES the “Free Agent Lifting Camp” already listed on the CG website.
We know families have vacations, camps, and other commitments over the summer, so it is OK if you can’t make all the sessions over the eight weeks.
